How do I become a RSVP volunteer?

Seniors & Students Program for Volunteers 55+

Tutor or become a Volunteer Pen Pal to Children in Waukesha, Menomonee Falls, and Sussex:  Tutors are needed to help elementary and middle school students with reading and math in their classrooms once a week or more.  Pen Pals are needed who are interested in writing to children from the comfort of home during the school year, and meeting their pen pals at a spring pen pal party.

Sharing Your Life Experiences with High School Students

Do you enjoy sharing your life experiences with young people?  Volunteers are needed February through May, 2012 to share U.S. history with Waukesha West High School freshman history classes.  Students study WWII through the Nixon eras. Twice a month, volunteers visit the classroom and create oral history lessons, discussing their personal experiences.  An orientation will be held in late January, 2012.

Intergenerational Folk Art Fairs

Folk Art Fairs are a fun, rewarding experience that fit into a busy retirement lifestyle.  Volunteers bring

old time crafts, hobbies and collections alive to children at Waukesha County elementary schools.  If you have special talents such as a magician or barbershop quartet, new exhibits are always needed.  Assistants are needed to work with exhibitors.

Contact Sue Galkowski for more information at
